The Connections Between Chefs and Aprons

Have you ever noticed that the normally the most amusing humorous things that you can see on the most humorous aprons out there tend to be one-liners? I think that one-liners are the overall most humorous forms of jokes. They really make you laugh with the use of often two punchlines that is why I consider them the best. You may often remember the humorous one liners on novelty aprons better than the recipes you are attempting to memorize and that increases your chances of becoming a comedian but lowers them for becoming a chef.

It is one of the main problems with being a cook nowadays a chef has to be skilled in the art of cooking, but he must also be a comedian as well. That then creates a very difficult job to force on a cook who already has a very large amount of pressure to work under and has to make four dishes all at once that all have taste great, look superb and smell amazing. You can imagine all of the different chefs out there thinking to themselves 'You want me to be a comic as well?'

Being a chef is a very difficult and stressful job. We should not accuse them if they find it hard to be humorous at the same time. Often, the funniest jokes are the unexpected ones, like for example if a chef forgets that he put a dish upon the heater and then it ends up burnt. For example if that happened to a television chef on a live show he may joke with the audience and say that it would be better if they forgot that had happened.

Often, one-liners can ruin the attitude of the most charismatic chef. Visualize a guess tasting a new recipe made by a chef who then turns to that chef and tells him that it was the worst pizza he had ever ate it was burnt and tasteless. The number of chefs whose reputation has been ruined by such an event is countless. One-liners like that can actually make a chef want to quit there job and become a door to door salesman instead or at least a job where such situations never happen.

At this point this is where the funny aprons appear in our article, they are often very humorous and they help to lessen the tension in the atmosphere which is formed by too much stress which is fromed their many different responsibilities around the kitchen. A chef who takes his crafts so fatally, that he would live or die by how his cooking is viewed will fall in disgrace when he received disapproval on his cooking abilities. This is the reason why chefs have trainees on hand all the time they are working, this helps the chef have less stress when he fails to produce high quality food.
